Saintpaulia (The African Violet)

Saintpaulias are the flagship plants of the Eastern Arc Mountains and coastal forests of Tanzania and Kenya. They are very common ornamental plants on the windowsills of the northern countries, but rare and endangered in their natural environment. Saintpaulias are found also in the forests of Magoroto and Mlinga and the project works to conserve the localities together with the forest-adjacent communities.
